About Bent Architecture
BENT Architecture is an innovative design practice based in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Brunswick. We're passionate about environmentally and socially sustainable design, particularly in the areas of social and affordable housing, and projects with community engagement. We love to explore the integration of architecture and landscape and the way people can use and shape their built environment. After winning the open design competition for the 'Living Places' social housing project, we used personal insights from the residents to inform how we design social and affordable housing projects. This connection to the people who will ultimately live in the houses and spaces we design is integral to our work. Similarly, winning the 'Growing Up' Green Roof competition led us to explore the potential of integrating landscape and architecture, even in challenging environments like inner-city rooftops, bringing more greenery and life to our cities. BENT Architecture works on a range of diverse projects including residential, education, commercial, community and social housing projects covering numerous disciplines, including architecture, interior design, urban and landscape design. Whether we're designing a medium-density social housing project, a small renovation or a roof garden on a landmark city site, one thing remains constant: our aim to create excitement, surprise and engagement for the users and wider community.
