About Bentley Investment Group
The Bentley Investment Group (BIG) is a student organization that is responsible for managing a portion of Bentley University's endowment. The fund originated in 1997, with an original allocation of $250K and has grown to more than $2.5M AUM under the group's financial decisions. Today BIG is one of the largest Student Managed Investment Funds (SMIF) in the nation by membership size with over 1,600 registered members on Campus Groups and more than 60 analysts and portfolio managers. The group’s goals are to achieve capital appreciation of the portfolio, while providing an educational experience to members. BIG seeks to run as a long-only equity fund focusing on investment exposure to intermediate and large capitalization companies allocated across seven industries. Using an active fundamental investment approach, BIG adds value to the investment process by making weighted decisions in sectors and individual securities.
