About Berlin Sci-fi Filmfest

We offer a platform for independent, thought-provoking films from Berlin-Brandenburg, Europe, and around the world. Over the last few years, we have been delighted by over 400 films from more than 38 different countries. Our festival is the first genre-specific sci-fi film festival in Germany. Berlin Sci-Fi Filmfest is dedicating to supporting and educating independent filmmakers in Berlin-Brandenburg and throughout Europe. As a first step we will be hosting a Screenwriting and Development Group where participants can get feedback on script pages, pitches, and pitch decks from other filmmakers. We will also be offering workshop seminars on topics such as screenwriting, pitching, and budgeting in order to help filmmakers to get their projects out of development and into pre-production. We are happy to announce that in the 2024 edition the festival will offer a “Blender Excellence Award” for films made at least in part with the open source software suite developed here in the EU.
