Based in Rochester, New York, Bero Architecture is a company of dedicated designers and historians committed to conscientiously improving upon and documenting the built environment through our technical expertise and collaboration with our clients and the broader community. We are a passionate and capable team of professionals who provide full Architecture, Preservation Planning, Building Evaluation, and Interior Design services in our nuanced approach to Historic Preservation practice. We work closely with our clients and their communities to carefully shape and inform their vision through research, documentation, and thoughtful study of potential design solutions. Founded by John Bero in 1976 with a small team of architects and a vision to carefully rehabilitate buildings through an in-depth understanding of their historical context and physical evolution; we have expanded and carried on John’s original vision fostering decades-long relationships with clients, community organizations, and colleagues to ensure meaningful and lasting stewardship of our community’s collective history. Our work is driven by curiosity and creativity while ensuring sympathetic reuse and appropriate care so we can leave the best of our cultural heritage to future generations.
