About Best Buddies New Hampshire
Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies New Hampshire empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while ending the social and physical isolation through Friendship and Leadership Programs. We have over 30 School Chapters throughout the state, in Elementary, Middle, High Schools, and Colleges. Our Citizens Adult Friendship Program matches individuals with and without disabilities in 1:1 meaningful friendships based on age, geographic location, and shared interests. Our Ambassador Training Program provides opportunities for members of the community , with and without IDD, to develop self-advocacy, speech writing, public speaking, and pre-employment skills. Our annual flagship events are the Best Buddies Friendship Walk held each spring, which gathers 500 participants and members of the community together to celebrate inclusion and raise money to move our mission forward. The Champion of the Year campaign and Gala are held each fall and provide an opportunity for members of the corporate and civid community to compete in a 12 fundraising and awareness competition, culminating in a formal Gala that is not to be missed!
