About Beta Beta Beta Biological Honors Society
Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 200,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 670 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, including this one. Beta Beta Beta Biology Honors Society recognizes those students who excel in biology. We also aim to aid undergraduates in their research through different grants and publication options via our national office. We seek to educate those interested in the field of biology. Membership in Tri-Beta is through invitation, where interested candidates may go through the application process to be considered for membership. Anyone with a marked interest in biology is eligible for membership. Our meetings consist of handling chapter business and often include a guest speaker, tour, or other outreach activity. Last year we heard from a panel of physicians, the Director of Undergraduate Research at MU, and had academic discussions with a range of professors and professionals regarding topics from graduate school, pharmacy, and many more.
