BetterNet is a brand name of Ka Rona Trading 594cc, based in Bloemfontein, South Africa, with a virtual presence in Auckland, NZ for the purpose of trunking VoIP telephony services between the countries. BetterNet started out as an alternative GSM Internet service in 2005, finding clients that required reliable e-mail services in farming areas of the Free-State province. The next step was advanced multi-link routing solutions for ADSL clients to optimize data usage, and then the move away from fixed-line infrastructure to 5GHz ISM-based Wireless ISP for the Mangaung (Bloemfontein) region. BetterNet also offers Open-Source solutions for routing/firewalling, as well as file-servers. Our VoIP client-base is split between our own virtual PBX (for multi-extension clients) and on-sold links to a billing management provider.
