About Between People

Opened in 2019, and expanded in 2022 as part of a £1m renovation at the School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering , the gallery showcases student and external work in regular exhibitions. Way Out East aims to explore creativity to its fullest: without limitation. The quality of the artists that we are helping to shape reflects the enviable standards of teaching offered by our state-of-the-art facilities and distinguished practitioners in UEL's Architecture and Physical Design and Visual Arts subject areas. The gallery is also the winner of the Outstanding Initiative in Community Cohesion at the East London Community Heroes 2023 award. The commendation recognises community organisations that bring people together from different ages and backgrounds together to tackle issues in the local area.
