Our itineraries are designed to couple bucket-list experiences with comfort and rest, while also cultivating a space where relationships become the priority as all else fades into the background. After a life-changing experience summiting Mount Kilimanjaro for the first time in 2005, BEYOND founder Drew Voyles envisioned helping others gain fresh perspective by getting outside of their day to day. Drew eventually returned in 2007 to lead his first group to the Roof of Africa. During that climb and the many that followed, year after year, against the backdrop of the largest free-standing mountain in the world, groups learned to sing with local guides in Swahili, watched the sun rise from above the clouds, shared stories around the table, laughed a lot, and through it all lifelong friendships were formed. Their climb became about much more than summiting – it became about each other. Asked to recreate this "trip of a lifetime", Drew led Trip after Trip after Trip, for individuals, families, corporate groups, and organizations. Years later, after taking more than 2,500 people on Trips across Africa, Drew founded BEYOND, expanding his vision to include both domestic and additional international offerings.
