About Beyond Stigma

Beyond Stigma is a registered Non-Government Organization that provides a platform to students dealing with mental health issues to get help from experts who are suited to provide it to them. We have helped hundreds of students in getting professional help and support. We have also collaborated with multiple organizations, including The Inner Wheel Club of India- Prerna and La Martiniere Girls’ College, Lucknow. Our founder was also felicitated by the UP State Government for her social initiative. Mental health is heavily stigmatized in India and we aim to remove that stigma around mental health discussions and sessions. Our team of psychologists provides guidance, counseling, therapy, and most importantly, a listening ear to anyone who needs it. All our services are free as we don’t want the high costs attached to mental health sessions to act as barriers between students and their wellness and happiness. We believe that the acceptance of mental health problems and their severity along with their destigmatization is truly the need of the hour and we aim to, with our outreach, spread the word to as many people as possible. We understand that there is no hierarchy of suffering nor a scale or graph to plot the relative importance of one issue over another, and through our collective efforts, we want people to know that whatever the cause for their suffering, help will always be made available to them. Mental health concerns our overall health and so, with your help, we believe that it is time to give it the recognition it deserves.
