About BGCM Community Centre and Sportsplex

BGCM! (Because God Chose Me!) Community Center & Sportsplex is a 501c3 nonprofit academic, arts & athletic center for youth & families. Founded by the Simons in 2002, it is deeply rooted in faith and integrity of youth. The Simons have been together for almost 30 years, married for 15, and have four children. They have both always held ties to improving their community, while focusing on integrity, stewardship, and honesty. Core principles of the organization are Self-Esteem, Youth Development, and Community Improvement. BGCM transforms communities by empowering youth to reach their fullest potential through academics, arts, and athletics, and instilling in them that they have been chosen by God to do something great despite circumstances or mistakes. The 3 pillars of our service are 1. Build Self Esteem through programs that promote healthy living, peer and mentor relationships, academic success, independence, and job opportunities, while upholding Christian values of love, integrity and stewardship. 2. Youth Development means to provide a safe environment where youth and families feel at home, by nurturing the potential of every young person through humanitarian efforts, community involvement, tutoring, homework assistance, leadership activities, parenting & family workshops, and more. 3. Community Improvement through extracurricular activities that provide community involvement, reduce crime, boost graduation rates, develop entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs, create financial freedom, and increase home ownership.
