About Bharat Folk Art
The ancient Indian art forms we depict are as old as 4,000 years and the themes are usually taken from ancient Hindu culture and ancient Hindu texts like the Vedas and Upanishads. Every painting in our shop has a historical story around it. The paintings provide a unique perspective into Indian ethos, cultural values and Indian traditions. The themes depict a range of emotions and philosophy, including importance of ceremonies, celebration of female energy in the cosmos, and value of being in harmony with nature. You will see a lot of simple things around us - birds, animals, aquatic life forms, trees, and nature - as the main theme. With backdrop of beautiful storyline and context, all paintings make up for great conversation starters. We share the historic literature and perspective along with the paintings. In traditional Indian philosophy, it is believed that looking at beautiful art you bring good luck and hope in your homes and lives.
