Since 1980, BDO has contributed to New York’s iconic skyline and neighborhoods with its thoughtful approach to design, hands-on management style, and dedication to partner and tenant satisfaction. The firm specializes in the investment and full-lifecycle development of ground-up luxury condominiums, adaptive reuse in historic districts, value-add multifamily, and high-end dormitory housing. The firm’s portfolio includes award-winning, iconic high-rise luxury residential developments in New York City such as The Strand, The Dunhill, The Whitney, The Stanford, and the ultra-luxury 139 Wooster Street in SoHo’s Cast Iron Historic District. In total, BDO has developed over 2,000 luxury condominiums, co-ops, and rental residences. In 2001, BDO expanded its focus to student housing, and has successfully developed just under 2,000 beds across five dormitory properties. Each of these five properties have been sold back to their university tenants for a combined $350M in value. Recently, BDO is working to launch a new platform that is focused primarily on the acquisition of value-add multifamily properties in high-growth regions of the US, via LP / GP / and Co-GP investment vehicles. In the last two years the firm has acquired or is in contact to purchase $42M of these types of assets in Virginia and Texas, and has invested in a combined $80M worth of acquisitions in Southern California, Florida, and Alabama.
