True to our mission, BHJ promotes intergovernmental communication, cooperation, and collaboration on issues and problems that have a greater than local impact. As the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Weirton-Steubenville, WV-OH Urbanized Area, BHJ’s primary mission is to implement the goals and strategies adopted by the Transportation Study Policy Committee, provide a continual, comprehensive, and coordinated 3-C planning process, and fulfill the objectives of the eight metropolitan planning factors established by Public Law. Committed to developing public and private partnerships, as well as foster innovative ideas and strategies that aim to increase the efficient use of the region’s intermodal transportation network, BHJ is in the forefront of the region’s transportation priorities and planning activities.
