BIAZZI SA (BIAZZI) is an engineering company based in Switzerland and supplies engineering, services and hardware for plants for the manufacture of explosives, for nitration of aromatics and for catalytic gas/liquid reactions. To date, more than 150 units for the manufacture of nitro-esters have been delivered by BIAZZI with an outstanding safety record. Plants for the manufacture of other explosives can also be delivered. Nitration of aromatics for chemical intermediates is another field of activities of BIAZZI. More than 50 state of the art plants have been built and waste water treatment complete the scope in this area. BIAZZI offers a complete range of services for building hydrogenation plants and to make the scale-up and optimization in the BIAZZI-test-facility. This is the basis for the design of the industrial plant. More than 70 BIAZZI gas/liquid reaction systems based on the unique ‘Biazzi High Performance Reactor’ have been built worldwide or are under construction. BIAZZI’s scope of supply ranges from key-equipment/basic-engineering to the delivery of skid mounted modular plants (e.g. turnkey units). Most of BIAZZI’s gas/liquid systems are used for hydrogenations. Others in operation are used for amination, carbonylation, hydroformulation, phosphination. More than 40% of the plants have been built for the pharmaceutical industry, in full compliance with the GMP requirements. Systems can be operated in batch or continuous mode.
