About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island (BBBSRI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of young people in Rhode Island. The largest and oldest youth mentoring organization in the state, BBBSRI serves young people ages 7 - 25 by pairing them in one-to-one mentoring relationships with caring adult volunteers. Mentoring is one of the most effective means of positively influencing the future of a child. Some local outcomes for Mentees mentored by Mentors include improved self-confidence, enhanced ability to express their feelings, better decision-making skills, and improved academic performance. Our Donation Center works in partnership with the thrift store Savers to collect clothing and textiles to generate funding to support our youth mentoring programs. It's easy and convenient to donate your items! We offer a free, convenient home pick-up service plus three donation drop-off centers and GREEN clothing donation bins placed throughout Rhode Island.
