About Big Delicious Planet Catering, Canteen & Farm
Big Delicious Planet was founded in 1994 by Heidi Moorman Coudal as a backstage rock + roll catering company, providing meals and fulfilling those notorious detailed dressing requirements for thousands of rock bands. Today you’re more likely to find BDP catering stylish weddings, designing one of a kind events in the middle of our urban farm, and feeding globally inspired cuisine to the world's most recognized brands. Our sunny cafe, the Canteen, is a hidden gem tucked away between unmarked warehouses and cool loft buildings, and is a hotspot for the creative entrepreneurs of West Town's industrial area. Breakfast and lunch are served Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:00pm. Pop in for a quick breakfast burrito and freshly brewed coffee or come by and enjoy one of our fabulous daily specials outside at our garden's farm table when the weather is nice. Daily Canteen Specials are posted on the Canteen Instagram. Our urban farm began in 2012 right next to their catering kitchen. We now have 72 raised beds where we're organically growing dozens of vegetables, fruits, herbs and edible flowers just 15 feet from our door. Many of our seasonal menus include our own organic crops! A great added bonus to hiring us! In 2013 BDP became a 4 Star Certified Green Restaurant, and were named “Greenest Caterer in America,” a status awarded to foodservice businesses that adhere to the strictest environmental standards for what’s innovative catering and event planning.
