Big Fork Theatre is Brisbane's home of improvisation and sketch comedy. Dedicated to fostering the comedy community in Brisbane, Big Fork Theatre runs Brisbane's only comedy theatre and the city's best training and development program for improvisation. At Big Fork Theatre, we truly believe that improv is for everyone - whether you’re a performance veteran or you’ve never before stepped foot on a stage. Our classes focus on developing your listening skills, your confidence and your ability to work as part of a team. Big Fork Theatre’s improv classes have been used by hundreds of students to improve their confidence, enhance their public speaking skills, develop their comedy chops, become a more confident performer, or just to add another skill to their CV. Importantly, our classes are fun and countless students have told us our classes are the highlight of their week! Big Fork Theatre also connect with businesses large and small to apply key improv principles to their staff training. Taking improv exercises and the underlying principles of "yes and", Big Fork's acclaimed facilitators develop skills in active listening, collaboration, communication, creativity and team bonding through unique and exciting sessions tailored to your needs. Big Fork's founders have trained at comedy institutions across America, such as Upright Citizens Brigade, iO Chicago, The Second City and Under the Gun Theatre (Chicago), and have performed and taught in theatres and schools across the world. Big Fork Theatre acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land we perform on, the First Nations people, and elders past, present and emerging.
