Bigfork Valley is a 20-bed critical access hospital located in the woods of northern Minnesota, right outside Bigfork (pop. 399). It is nationally known for offering a great patient experience, an excellent facility, and a top workplace environment for its 200+ employees, with a priority on developing quality medical skills. Our federal hospital patient satisfaction survey puts us consistently at or near the top of Minnesota’s reporting hospitals. Our providers are part of Scenic Rivers Health Services’ onsite medical clinic, which staffs our emergency department 24/7 with provider coverage. When patients come to Bigfork Valley, they can expect quality diagnostics with extensive imaging and laboratory equipment, a surgery center that supports hip and knee replacement surgery as well as general surgeries and chronic pain management, and rehab physical and occupational therapists who work closely with the patient’s medical team. The facility also includes a retail pharmacy and chiropractic clinic, as well as specialty care, including orthopedics, wound care, podiatry, and other specialists, through the Specialty Clinic and Specialty Clinic West, located on the Bigfork Valley campus. For visitors, there is the Wanigan – a cafeteria open 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with a hot lunch, salad bar, and variety of cooler options. There is also a 24/7 community membership fitness center with a daily option. The medical campus at Bigfork Valley also supports a continuum of elder care and living options, including senior apartments and Twin Homes, assisted living, and a nursing home, Tamarack Lodge. Aspen Circle, memory care, is a specially designed building offering quality of life for residents with dementia.
