About Bila Law Academy

At Bila Law Academy, our aim is to provide fundamental skills, knowledge and practical experience to aspiring lawyers from less privileged backgrounds. Our mission is to increase diversity and inclusion in the legal sector. We are committed to improve social mobility and increase access to law pathways to support our young people and the future generations. We aim to achieve this mission by working closely with individuals, organisations, educational establishments, local authorities, law firms, barristers' chambers, to ensure that doors of opportunities are opened for students from the Afro-Caribbean, Asian ethnic minority, under-represented and those from less privileged backgrounds. We are community driven and strive to empower young people and families. The Academy was founded to create opportunities, inspire, educate and empower aspiring lawyers, students and participants pursuing legal education and professional careers. Our programmes aim to provide students with tools to help them build confidence, self-esteem and acquire skills to prepare them for their legal careers ahead. We will provide theoretical and practical work experience within the legal sector, to help and support them in their legal journeys. The students will have the opportunity to take part in law career workshops, practical training, invaluable support from mentors, networking and many more bespoke programmes. Our aim is to act as the bridging link to connect the legal profession and the local communities. We are here to bridge gaps and stand as visible role models in order to raise aspirations and ambitions to those from under-privileged backgrounds. Our goal is to help students, young people and families the opportunities to reach their full potential. Bila Law Academy was founded by Nadine Bila, Director & Legal Consultant at Bila Legal Services. Our programmes are delivered by qualified solicitors, law lecturers, barristers, legal consultants. We also have a QC on board.
