About Biome Functional Medicine

At its simplest, the word biome means “environment” or “ecosystem”, and so much of the philosophy of functional medicine and what I do professionally is about looking at how an individual's external environment impacts his or her internal environment, for better or worse. The food you eat, the air you breathe, the countless products you use in your home and on your body, even the social circles you move in: all of these aspects of daily life create your own unique “biome” that either supports good health or perpetuates poor health. As a functional medicine practitioner, I believe in treating the root cause of health issues rather than just managing symptoms. My approach is personalized and evidence-based, utilizing a comprehensive intake process and cutting-edge lab testing to develop a unique plan for each individual. By identifying the underlying biochemical imbalances that may be contributing to a patient’s health concerns, and then using nutrition and lifestyle medicine to address these imbalances, the body’s ability to heal can be unlocked. I work collaboratively with each patient to develop a plan that addresses his or her specific health issues and goals. I am passionate about empowering my patients to take control of their health and make sustainable changes that lead to lasting results.
