BMTT (Biomedical Think Tank) is a first-of-its-kind feeding studio closing the massive gap between academia and commercialization in healthcare. We exist to unlock the enormous, underutilized potential of students—transforming overlooked ideas into real-world innovation. From clinical shadowing to customer discovery, we train students to identify unmet needs, analyze markets, and engineer validated solutions. We build startups around the strongest concepts, then transfer them—along with the majority of equity—to full-service venture studios or capable founders. In select cases, we continue developing the ventures ourselves, acting as a venture studio. The problem we’re solving is clear: in college towns across the country, some of the most insightful innovations—senior design projects, thesis work, and novel ideas—routinely collect dust on shelves. BMTT is building the infrastructure to systematically catch and accelerate these ideas before they're lost, using a scalable model that starts in Oxford, MS and expands to other universities nationwide. We aren’t just launching companies—we’re changing how innovation gets discovered, validated, and translated.
