About BioNa
Our mission is to strengthen Europe’s energy independence with sustainable, high-performing battery materials. We aim to be the first to deliver carbon-negative hard carbon for sodium-ion batteries. BioNa is a DTU project to spinout developing high-performance, anode materials for sodium-ion batteries, using agricultural waste as feedstock. Our anode exceeds 300 mAh/g, and reduces CO₂ emissions by 30% compared to fossil-based alternatives. Designed for grid storage and commercial renewables. In close collaboration with DTU Energy and European manufacturers, we are building a reliable, real-world production process to support Europe’s battery supply chain.
