The BIPOC Outdoor Adventures Club is a student-led, non-profit organization dedicated to making outdoor recreation accessible, affordable, and health-focused for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) students. Our mission is to break down barriers such as transportation, financial limitations, and lack of resources—key social determinants of health—allowing BIPOC students to experience the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of nature. We strive to promote diversity in outdoor spaces while building community, fostering empowerment, and addressing systemic inequities. By tackling these social determinants, we aim to create inclusive opportunities for health and wellness through outdoor recreation.
