About Bird Endowment
BIRD ENDOWMENT is on a mission to save the critically endangered Blue-throated Macaw from extinction in the wild in the Beni Savanna of Bolivia, the birds endemic range. Bird Endowment's primary campaign to achieve this goal is our Nido Adoptivo™ “adopted nest” project in partnership with the Bolivian NGO Asociación Armonía. This annual campaign raises funds through donations and nest box sponsorships to build, monitor and protect the nest boxes on the Laney Rickman Blue-throated Macaw Reserve in Bolivia. As of 2022, an incredible 113 Blue-throated Macaws have now fledged from the nest boxes on the Laney Rickman Reserve. With estimates of only 400 - 450 of these critically endangered birds in the wild, this number is truly significant - about 25% of the wild population. With continued support, the Blue-throated Macaw is flying toward a brighter future!
