About Birribi

Birribi is an innovative, therapeutic, residential children's care organisation based in Pembrokeshire and through Birribi, we are bringing mental health into the heart of children's residential care. Birribi provides residential care for children with complex mental health, developmental and social problems, and was formed with a social mission and purpose to innovate within the children's care sector. We aim to fundamentally change the model of care provision in order to improve the long-term outcomes for children and young people leaving care. We are raising the bar, through our social-ecological therapy approach, for children with complex mental health problems, learning disabilities and social disadvantages. We aim to improve their life outcomes and enable children and young people to reach their full potential, and become confident, independent and productive members of the community in adulthood. Birribi provides a fully registered independent school, with a team of qualified and experienced teaching staff. The school team creates stimulating environments for learning and has a philosophy of promoting education and learning, in all forms. We are developing our third location on a farmhouse and smallholding, to include a rural education centre and Forest Schools approach in Carmarthenshire.
