About Bishop & Associates
We are Philadelphia's oldest privately-held investment adviser, established and in continuous operation since 1949. The Bishop's Sword in our logo represents the principles of Stability, Protection, Honor, Strength, and Courage. Each of these is represented in the way we conduct our business, manage assets, and serve clients. We are a boutique asset management firm that uses a proprietary approach to wealth management called Panoramic Portfolio Management. We allocate assets across strategies, starting with our in-house Core Equity portfolio, a concentrated portfolio management style pioneered by our founder, Donald Bishop. We then add our in-house, fixed income strategy, and we actively manage risk, using options to provide downside protection and enhance overall return. We then allocate across a broad cross-section of hedge funds and private investments to further reduce correlation and manage risk. In addition to Panoramic Portfolio Management, we provide asset protection strategies using Private Placement Life Insurance and Private Placement Variable annuities. We work with a number of advisors and attorneys to create these strategies to meet each client's specific needs.
