BREI’s mission is to produce independent research, analyze critical issues facing the BIW industry, and Rating and Evaluating BIW equipment Suppliers and Vendors. The first mission of the BIW Institute is to research and development. Our task is to anticipate and understand the future needs of our customers and to translate these into innovative technologies. The Institute offers industry-recognized certificates and professional designations for Car-body engineering segments of the automotive industry. We provide a Supplier evaluation and approve potential BIW suppliers by quantitative and qualitative assessment to measure and monitor their performance to reduce costs, mitigate risk, and drive continuous improvement. The purpose is to ensure a portfolio of best-in-class BIW suppliers is available for public use. BIW Research & Education Institute (BREI) produces industry-driven research and analyses; develops forecasts; fosters dialogue and convenes forums; and publicly disseminates our research through events, our website, and the media. As an independent, non-profit, research organization with a multi-disciplinary approach, BREI engages with leaders in the global automotive industry to support technology advancements and improve the competitiveness of the BIW industry. We succeed through close collaboration and strong relationships with automakers, suppliers, industry associations, government, non-profits, labor organizations, and educational institutions.
