About Bizia
Hawaiʻi-grown albizia, Falcataria moluccana, is one of the fastest growing tree species in the world. This makes it among most problematic invasive species in the state. It is known to damage homes and infrastructure and threatens Hawaii’s native ecosystems. The need to remove it and it’s Balsa-like properties was the perfect opportunity to turn it into sustainable, locally-grown surfboards.
