Black and Gold Analytics (BGA) is a student-run sports analytics organization committed to opening doors into one of the most competitive industries in sports. We provide students with meaningful opportunities to gain experience, build their resumes, and grow their professional networks. Through independent research, analytics competitions, and speaker events with industry professionals, our members actively apply what they learn and develop the skills needed to succeed in real-world sports environments. Our projects span basketball, football, baseball, hockey, golf, and more. Members explore topics like injury prediction, player valuation, game theory, and performance optimization. Each project is built with an emphasis on relevance, creativity, and rigor. We encourage analytical freedom while maintaining the standards seen in professional and collegiate analytics departments. We also host conversations with working professionals across the industry, including analysts, scouts, coaches, and data scientists.
