About Black Farmers' Market
The Black Farmers’ Market (BFM) is more than a weekly place to shop. It's a movement rooted in community, culture, and collective growth. Founded in 2020, we exist to cultivate self-sustaining roots by encouraging healthy communities and uplifting Black farmers and entrepreneurs. Our markets in Durham and Raleigh create a culturally affirming space where people can access fresh, locally grown produce while celebrating Black excellence in agriculture, food, and business. But we are more than a market. We are an incubator for Black-owned businesses. We are a platform that connects farmers to wholesale opportunities and food access partners. We are educators, offering resources and capacity-building for entrepreneurs. We are a hub for community wellness, creativity, and joy. By following our page, you’ll stay connected to stories of resilience, innovation, and celebration. Together, we’re building a food system where Black farmers and businesses thrive and communities flourish.
