Welcome to Black in Gaming (BIG), a thriving community committed to fostering, empowering, and amplifying Black professionals within the video game industry. Since 2002, our mission has been to actively create avenues for education, leadership development, and skills enhancement for Black individuals in gaming. In the world of gaming, Black professionals, both established and aspiring, often encounter microaggressions, implicit biases, and outright discrimination in their workplaces. These unique obstacles can significantly impede career growth and, in some cases, force talented individuals to abandon their dreams entirely. At BIG, we are dedicated to addressing these challenges head-on by cultivating a dynamic and well-informed community that is equipped with the tools and support needed to achieve success and flourish together. Join us at BIG as we forge a path towards a more inclusive and equitable gaming industry. Together, we can overcome barriers, celebrate achievements, and empower Black professionals to make lasting contributions to the world of gaming. Our Vision is to inspire a world where every individual has equity in the gaming industry. Our Mission is to connect, educate, and empower black talent in the worldwide gaming ecosystem by striving to achieve significant increases in black representation that accurately reflects the diverse participants in the industry. In partnership with IGDA–BIG, the BIG Foundation focuses on events, presentations, and gaming community engagements that grow our community, develop prospects, and increase opportunities for all our members. The BIG Foundation is a public charity, a registered 501(c)(3) organization in the United States.
