Black Women New Jersey (BWNJ), a thriving community dedicated to championing the brilliance, resilience, and contributions of Black women across the vibrant landscapes of New Jersey. With a membership exceeding 8,000 and growing, BWNJ stands as a beacon of empowerment and celebration, committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, support, and advocacy. Founded less than a year ago, BWNJ has swiftly emerged as a dynamic force, catalyzing change and uplifting Black women through a multifaceted approach. Our mission is anchored in the belief that by creating spaces for connection, collaboration, and growth, we can empower Black women to unlock their fullest potential and thrive in every aspect of their lives. In a state where African Americans constitute 15.4% of the population and Black women represent only 6.7%, the imperative to address disparities and champion equity is paramount. Through our unwavering commitment to educational, empowering, and barrier-breaking initiatives, BWNJ endeavors to dismantle systemic barriers and create pathways to success for Black women in New Jersey and beyond. We aim to: •Bring awareness to all the amazing things Black Women are doing Local and Statewide •We will create opportunities for women to advance and develop strategies that will increase theirs and others sphere of influence. •Highlight Black Women Making an impact in their lanes of influence. •Support and help Minority women in areas of need. Beyond empowerment, BWNJ is deeply committed to amplifying the voices of Black women and advocating for systemic change. From addressing disparities in voting rights, education, employment, and healthcare to advocating for criminal justice reform and economic empowerment, we work tirelessly to elevate the issues that matter most to our community and drive meaningful change.
