About Blackgold Broadcasting

Blackgold Broadcasting Inc. was formed in 2006 to offer Leduc County its first FM radio station. On February 22, 2012, after 3 attempts and 7 years, the CRTC awarded Blackgold Broadcasting the license for CJLD 93.1 The ONE "Leduc's Best Country". The One officially launched on April 16, 2013, at 9:31am. On Monday, September 15, 2014, The Commission approved an application by Blackgold Broadcasting Inc. for a broadcasting licence to operate an English-language commercial FM radio station to serve Spruce Grove and Stony Plain. Parkland County’s FIRST locally-owned and operated radio station, 88.1 The One, launched on June 4, 2015. Friday, September 2, 2016. The CRTC approved the application by Blackgold Broadcasting Inc, to bring Ponoka its first and only FM Radio station. CKPA-FM "Ponoka's Best Country" will launch in Fall 2021. The One provides its audience content that has never been given before – local news & sports, local weather, and pertinent community information. Mark Tamagi, Founder and President of Blackgold Broadcasting, has more than 30 years of broadcast and marketing experience is very proud to bring an FM Radio Service to local counties.
