BlackRock Center for the Arts, located in the heart of Germantown, Maryland, provides a variety of live music performances, exhibitions, and arts education for people of all ages in Upper Montgomery County and the surrounding area. Our welcoming 30,000+ square foot facility is visited by more than 40,000 people each year. BlackRock Center for the Arts includes two theaters, two galleries, several artist and dance studios, outdoor concert stage, rooftop terrace, and a stunning lobby space with soaring ceilings and beautiful natural light. It’s a great place to take in the arts or rent for your special event—corporate events, receptions, and parties. Come celebrate the rich diversity of artistic expression and cultural heritage in Upper Montgomery County! PERFORMANCES: Each season we present a broad lineup of pop, rock, acoustic, blues, jazz, Latin, and Celtic along with shows for everyone—comedy, theater, dance—and a free outdoor summer concert series on our lawn. Performances are memorable experiences and there’s not a bad seat in our theaters. EXHIBITIONS: Our two gallery spaces feature year-round exhibits—for free! Our opening receptions give guests an opportunities to meet the artists and mingle with fellow art lovers. EDUCATION: We offer more than 100 dance, music, theater and art classes for children, teens and adults—and taught by amazing instructors and artists. Our art education opportunities vary from classes lasting a few weeks to conservatory classes spanning an academic year. We also offer spring and summer camps in dance, music, theater and visual arts—plus artist workshops. RENTALS: With more than 30,000 spectacular square feet that incorporates two theaters, rooftop patio, galleries, soaring ceilings, and room after room bathed in natural light, BlackRock is perfect for your next event, big or small.
