Children are facing food insecurity in Southwest Florida and across every ZIP code in the United States. Thousands of kids rely on their school’s free and reduced-price meal programs during the week, but that support disappears on the weekends. That’s where we step in. Blessings in a Backpack bridges the weekend hunger gap by providing kids with bags of satisfying, shelf-stable food each Friday, so they can return to school on Monday nourished and ready to learn. The Blessings in a Backpack Southwest Florida Chapter supports children across dozens of schools and programs. With the help of dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and community partners, we are working to ensure hunger-free weekends for as many kids as possible.
