May 2019 SUPPORT LEADERSHIP - The BlackOut Collective The BlackOut Collective offers black Queer men an opportunity to take a leading role in making a real difference to the lives of Black Queer men in the UK. At the same time, enhance their skills, grow networks, collaborate with other Black queer men to create solutions, nurture new friendships, create new commercial partnerships, and gain access to exclusive paid and voluntary work opportunities. Collective members can choose to become BlackOut company members with a formal role in decision-making on completion of the cohort training programme PREPARE FOR BLACK QUEER FUTURES - BlackOut Digital Blackout Digital deploys digital technologies and media in support of Black queer men. We will: support Black queer creatives to create - build and occupy digital space that responds to what we want and need - enable new connections, insights and conversations- support collaboration and solidarity - promote population health (mental and sexual health) - #givealotgetalot - be accountable to our peers - centre #Black Boy Joy 'START FROM WHAT'S STRONG' Civic Lab – Working with Black Queer men to research experiences, assess needs, connect with key stakeholders/decision-makers, and each other to design and implement interventions by us, for us.
