Bloom to life is a US Nonprofit 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization formed in July 2015 to save the lives of young children from India with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Financial assistance will be provided to the underprivileged children and their parents who don’t have the resources to pay for their child’s Heart surgery. Bloom To Life has tied up with the best hospitals and top Pediatric Cardiology surgeons in India to do heart surgeries. Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the world’s most common major birth defect, affecting one in every 100 children. Almost 1.4 million children are born worldwide yearly with Congenital heart defects or CHD. In India alone, 250K children with CHD die yearly due to lack of access to care. Common heart defects include: 1. Holes in the heart or great vessels: atrial septal defect (ASD), ventricular septal defect (VSD), patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) 2. Conditions resulting in the child becoming a blue baby: Cyanotic heart defects like tetralogy of Fallot’s (TOF) and transposition (TGA). 3. Congenital narrowing of heart valves or vessels Cardiac surgery in a child's heart is a major event in the child's life and the entire family. They will never forget the doctors & the people who helped with the surgery. The events happening in the family are always described in the future as Before the Heart operation & After the Heart operation. How Can You Help - 1.
