About Blue Butterfly Collaborative

Blue Butterfly Collaborative uses the appeal, power, and impact of children’s media to advance international development aims. We build in-country capacity to manage, develop, distribute, and evaluate high-quality media to catalyze positive change in children’s attitudes, knowledge, and behavior. We work across a range of educational domains including literacy, mathematics, science, health, the arts, and peace-building to help local production teams develop culturally-relevant and engaging educational media content. At Blue Butterfly we believe that international development works best when projects are conceptualized and executed at the local level. Our goal is to provide in-country teams with the tools and skills they need to drive the creation, distribution, and sustainability of high-quality educational resources where they are needed most. Working with local educators, producers, artists, researchers, and other specialists, Blue Butterfly builds in-country capacity to execute large-scale, evidence-based educational projects in areas of need throughout the world. Our associates build local capacity by providing training, project management assistance, and generalized support to in-country partners in four different areas: Educational Messaging/Curriculum Design, Content Production (for television, radio, mobile, and print), Monitoring and Evaluation, and Impact Research.
