About Blue Squid Learning

At Blue Squid, we believe that anxiety shouldn’t mean the end of a young person’s education. When school starts to feel overwhelming, it can be hard to see a way forward. Motivation dips, confidence takes a knock, and families and schools are left trying to piece together what to do next. That’s where Blue Squid comes in. We provide a calm, structured and encouraging space where young people can begin to enjoy learning again. Whether they’ve stepped away from school and are being home educated, or they’re still on roll but not attending, we offer a fresh start: one that puts relationships first and builds trust, curiosity and hope for the future. At Blue Squid, we start with relationships. We get to know each young person – what helps them feel safe, what sparks their interest, and what support they need to thrive. From there, we build them a personal programme: one that combines academic learning with creative exploration, therapeutic coaching, and space to grow. There’s structure and purpose here – we expect our learners to engage with English and maths learning and to challenge themselves – but there’s also freedom to try new things, follow ideas and build confidence along the way. Our team of experienced teachers support young people to learn at their own pace: helping each young person feel ready, curious and excited to take their next steps, in their own time, in their own way.
