About BlueTube

BlueTube is a community-based solution to our plastic waste problem. Plastic lasts long after its useful life is over, and after 70 years of enthusiastic use, plastic waste is piling up. Much of this waste ends up dispersed in the ocean. Over time plastic fragments into tiny pieces and is difficult, even impossible, to remove. When plastic washes up on beaches in pieces big enough to pick up, we have an opportunity, before the tide sends it out to sea again, to collect the waste. BlueTubes make this easy. BlueTubes are bright blue containers at shore entrances (or anywhere trash needs to be cleaned up) that hold clean, used plastic bags. People grab a bag, pick up trash and throw it away. When visitors add their clean, used plastic bags to BlueTubes, the cycle continues. By providing a bag and a reminder, BlueTube encourages more people to pick up more trash more often. No need to wait for the annual Beach Clean-up Day. With BlueTube, trash removal is an everyday community project. Sponsor a BlueTube for a one-time fee of $160 www.BlueTubeBeach.org/product/bluetube-container/ . Sponsors get their 3” x 3” logo on the sides of their BlueTube, and everyone gets a cleaner beach. Sponsorships are tax-deductible, and a portion funds research on ocean plastic.
