About BLV Consulting, Featuring Guided Inquiry Design
BLV is an education consulting firm providing consulting services and professional development to districts, schools and teacher teams that support teaching and learning in a complex information environment. Our mission is to improve public education through increased use of inquiry-based learning in the K-12 context for the 21st Century teacher and learner. Our instructional design framework was created by a high powered collaborative team of three (an internationally renown Professor of Information Studies (Kuhlthau), a top Museum Educator (Caspari), and a Literacy and Curriculum Specialist, (Maniotes)). Our research backed Guided Inquiry Design(R) framework was developed to support educators to shift learning to address the needs of teachers and learners in the information age. We provide "small batch" professional development with time to apply new ideas to practice. In our innovative professional development workshops, educators learn how to implement standards based inquiry-based learning in the K-12 context. Our highly acclaimed Guided Inquiry Design Institute is repeatedly ranked by participants as the best PD they have attended, as they are able to implement the strategies and ideas, collaborate with colleagues and grow in their knowledge of the profession.
