About Book Industry Communication
The UK book industry’s dedicated supply chain organisation. BIC is an independent organisation originally founded (in 1991) by the Publishers Association, Booksellers Association, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and the British Library. We are dedicated to promoting green supply chains and efficiency in all sectors of the book world through e-commerce and the application of best practice, standard processes and procedures. We have excellent relationships with all major standards bodies and work closely with BookNet Canada and the Book Industry Study Group in the US. We are co-founders of The International Green Book Supply Chain Alliance along with BISG and BookNetCanada. https://www.greenbookalliance.org BIC is a neutral body and as such unites all sectors of the publishing industry via its popular events, collaborations, projects, networking, training, and committee work. Whether a publisher, content creator, on-line retailer, "bricks & mortar" retailer, library supplier, printer, distributor, library (academic or public), wholesaler, digital partner, data aggregator, or any combination of these, BIC offers a "one stop shop" experience, impartial advice and support on anything and everything related to the supply chain (digital and/or physical).
