About Bore Place - home of the Commonwork Trust
Bore Place is the home of the Commonwork Trust, a charity dedicated to nature recovery, regenerative land stewardship, environmental education and community engagement set in 500 acres of Kent landscape. With our natural world under constant threat, Bore Place uses regenerative and sustainable practices to run its buildings and to restore biodiversity across its site, whilst engaging all ages and communities with nature. We offer everyone the opportunity to better understand the natural world and our place in it, fostering greater connection between people and nature to restore the planet and ourselves. Our estate comprises a variety of Kentish historical buildings surrounded by sustainably managed woodlands, farmland, hedgerows and wetlands, abundant with wildlife and organic seasonal growing. We offer nature-based educational activities for all ages and dedicated outdoor education programmes for young people with special educational needs (SEN). Your visit can include marked walking and cycling trails, group retreat accommodation, team building days, public and private events featuring fresh local produce, courses, workshops and practical volunteer conservation activities including species monitoring and citizen science.
