About Boulder Creek Musical Instruments
We are makers of a unique line of acoustic guitars and basses that offer a full tonal range, powerful projection, excellent playability and a passion to inspire musicians of every level. Our ukuleles are loved and known for their dual-port system, rich sound, and great looks! How do our guitars achieve a complete dynamic range? Read on. Virtually all acoustic guitars today use the X bracing design for their tops. It was first developed in the 1850s. Stop and ask yourself, how many pre-civil war era technologies remain in use? The answer is very few. Boulder Creek Musical Instruments believes there is a better way to brace a guitar top thereby improving the guitars sound. We developed the exclusive and patented Suspended Bracing System (SBS). The SBS is the next evolution of the acoustic guitar. It frees the sound board allowing more vibration. More vibration produces richer tone and improved sustain. The SBS design incorporates two aluminum tone bars the top more durable while freeing it from the standard X bracing constrictions. Combining the best characteristics of the X bracing design with new technology, the SBS gives the player the best of both worlds. http://www.bouldercreekguitars.com/sbs All Boulder Creek guitar models include the SBS. By not cutting a large hole in the front sound board of the guitar, the sound board area is increased and the top vibrates more evenly and achieves greater sustain. Relocating the sound hole on the side of the guitar lets the player hear the deep rich tones that come from the inside the guitar's chamber. Because low frequencies are omni directional, the lows are heard all around the guitar. Mid and high frequencies coming from the front of the guitar are also increased. All in all, a totally new way for a totally new sound from an acoustic guitar.
