The mission statement of Bow Cycle is quite straightforward: “To be able to deal with the needs of all cyclists no matter what form of cycling may interest them and to treat them all fairly and equally.” Bow Cycle is one of the largest single building bicycle retail companies in North America. We like to think of ourselves as a family bike shop that handles everything your family could be into. From kids' run bikes to elite road or mountain bikes, we carry and service it. Bow Cycle was started in 1957 by Jim Sibthorpe. It has evolved dramatically over the years. It split into two companies, Bow Cycle & Sports and Bow Cycle & Motors, Cycle being managed by son Brian Sibthorpe and Motors, managed by son Jim Sibthorpe Jr. In 2004, five long term employees (John Franzky, Darrell Elliot, Kevin Senior, Kurt Christensen, and David Leung) became part-owners along with Joel Sibthorpe, ensuring that Bow Cycle and Sports continues to provide great sales and service that it has been known for throughout Western Canada.
