About Bowra Foundation

The Bowra Foundation is a UK charity which channels the mindset of the military to inspire an unrelenting pursuit of rehabilitation amongst people who suffer from neurological conditions. Founded by Lt Col Mark Bowra MBE, a decorated Royal Marines officer, himself recovering from a devastating stroke, the Foundation supports rehabilitation and enhanced wellbeing through practical help and physical challenges. BOWRA 1000 In June 2020 Mark will cycle, swim and paddle from John O'Groats to Lands End, climbing the Three Peaks and Pen y Fan en route. He will be joined by fellow veterans, Wounded, Injured and Sick serving Armed Forces personnel and members of Team Bowra who are have neurological disorders. Bowra Bag A toolkit that Mark assembled during his recovery, the Bowra Bag contains almost 30 items which aid rehabilitation and independence. Through working with healthcare partners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and carers, Bowra Foundation aims to get a Bowra Bag to neurological disorder sufferers - of all walks of life - as early as possible to support their rehabilitation journey. As a new organisation, we are focussed on growing our community and building support for the Bowra Bag and Bowra 1000. The help of the Linkedin community in doing this is much appreciated.
