About Boys and Girls Country of Houston
Boys and Girls Country of Houston, Inc. (BGC) is a residential children's home that changes the lives of children from families in crisis by loving and nurturing them in a Christian home environment, raising them to become self-sustaining and contributing adults. Located 35 miles northwest of downtown Houston, Boys and Girls Country can accommodate children ages 5 to 18 and young adults 18+ through their College and Career program. Children live on campus in cottages with trained houseparents and attend public schools. Poverty, abuse and neglect all have a negative effect on children and can impede their chances of personal success. Boys and Girls Country addresses a child’s well-being by providing a secure, stable, home environment with an emphasis on education, building healthy relationships and setting goals for the future. Boys & Girls Country relies solely on private donors and does not accept any state for federal funding.
