About BrasUP

We started BrasUP by innovation in 2015. We wanted to add value and solve a problem to the consumer. This is how we got our first development: An all-in one cardboard box filled with hardwood charcoal and a in-house auto ignition system to fire up the bbq. - It was a great product and we did really well. While growing we found that there was one huge problem in our supply chain, the hardwood charcoal comes from primary native forests that are not reforested and we didn’t want to be part of that. - So in 2020 we decided to change, to research and develop a solution that went along with our values of environmental care and sustainability. After months of trial and error we found it: an Eco-friendly charcoal made from rice husk, an abundant agricultural discard in our province of Corrientes, Argentina, the place where this dream was born. - Since we launched the product in 2021 everything changed for us, we found not only a solid motivation in a sustainable and virtuous business with an exponential growth potential, but also something that changed us as a start-up and most importantly impacted our personal lives. - That same year we closed two rounds that lead to building our model plant in our beloved Corrientes and a full scale plant in Coronel Bogado, Paraguay which is already running and making our products available for exports. - Today we are seeing opportunities all around the world, we can adapt and offer solutions up-cycling several biomass discards into carbon based products.
