About Bright Ice Initiative, (Climate solutions)

Bright Ice Initiative is a non-profit organization addressing some of the world's most urgent climate problems in order to slow the devastating impacts of climate change. We are evaluating localized and low-impact approaches to increase the reflectivity of glacial ice and snow, to slow the melt. Bright Ice Initiative is committed to follow the Oxford principles of transparency and permissions, by conferring with Indigenous and local residents, as well as governance and policy experts to help develop mutual awareness and creation of suitable policies for climate regenerative approaches to be evaluated. We seek to work via close collaborations including Indigenous and local communities, universities, students, scientists, non-profits, and governmental groups with expertise in local conditions and cultures, glaciology, meteorology, and climate, with the aim to co-develop and evaluate local solutions that work for each community’s local conditions and challenges.
